The manor of Belle Jonchère stands in Veigné, on the edge of the Taffonneau stream valley, built as a fortified gentleman's house in the 16th century. Its two perpendicular wings are flanked by round towers, including a former dovecote pierced with sixteen hundred nesting holes. The courtyard of honour, closed off around 1670 by a gatehouse pavilion with a Mansard roof, completes an estate that remained a working farm for centuries before becoming an inhabited residence at the end of the 20th century.
