> La seigneurie de Puychenin relevait de la baronnie de Parthenay et était un arrière-fief de Châteauneuf-en-Gâtine. Le château forme un quadrilatère entouré de douves. Le corps de logis adopte un plan rectangulaire. Il est encadré de chaque côté de dépendances qui forment la cour d'honneur. La façade nord s'ouvre par une porte à fronton grec soutenu par deux pilastres. La façade sud est cantonnée de deux pavillons, chacun doté d'une lucarne surmontée d'un fronton à acrotères. Les communs forment un U au nord du logis. Ils abritent un four à pain et diverses granges.
