# Wüstegarten

Hessen

The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

The Wüstegarten is the highest point of the Kellerwald range in Hesse, rising to 675.3 metres. Its summit is encircled by an oval stone rampart known as the Heidelburg, most likely dating from the 9th century and connected to the conflicts between the Conradines and the Liudolfing dukes of Saxony. A wooden observation tower, the Kellerwaldturm, now stands within this ancient enclosure and offers wide views over the Kellerwald and the surrounding ranges.
