# Schloss Braunfels

Braunfels, Lahn-Dill-Kreis, Hessen

Schloss Braunfels stands in Braunfels (Lahn-Dill-Kreis), in Hesse, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Standing on a basalt cone above the town of Braunfels, this Schloss has belonged to the same princely family for eight centuries and remains their residence today. Starting as a medieval watchtower first recorded in 1246, the building was reshaped repeatedly over time before receiving, in the late 19th century, its neo-Gothic outline of turrets and bay windows. Guided tours lead through the knights' hall and trace the long building history, while a separate museum displays the family's weapons, uniforms, coins and porcelain.

**Practical details not verified yet.** We know this château and where it is, but we have not yet checked its opening hours or prices at the source. We would rather tell you than display something we are unsure of.
