The Ponikauhaus stands on the north side of the Rathausplatz in Kempten, Bavaria. This substantial patrician town house, built from the 16th century onward by combining two older properties, served as the civic counterpart to the throne room of the prince-abbot's residence, the two towns having once been separated by the old city fortifications. Its eleven-bay facade features a balconied oriel window and a baroque gable, while the upper floors hold a former rococo festival hall with restored ceiling paintings. The building is now occupied by a local bank, the Allgäuer Volksbank.
