# Palais Schlobach

Leipzig, Leipzig, Sachsen

Palais Schlobach stands in Leipzig (Leipzig), in Saxony, Germany. No visits are on record for this building.

The Palais Schlobach is a residential and commercial building erected in 1871 and 1872 beside the Pleißemühlgraben in Leipzig, opposite St Thomas Church, on land belonging to the Schlobach family of millers. Its neoclassical facade, decorated with rusticated pilasters and caryatids, was designed by architect Arwed Roßbach. Damaged during the Second World War and stripped of its ornamentation during alterations in 1959, the building later fell into disrepair and was demolished in 2006 after becoming structurally unsafe. Since 2016 its facade has been faithfully reconstructed as part of a hotel, joined to the neighbouring Kosmoshaus.
