München, München, Bayern

Palais Porcia stands in München (München), in Bavaria, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 17th century. No visits are on record for this building.

The Palais Porcia stands on Kardinal Faulhaber Strasse in Munich's old town and preserves the oldest baroque facade still standing in the city. Built in the late 17th century for a Countess Fugger, it was later reworked in Rococo style under the direction of François de Cuvilliés. Destroyed by bombing in 1944, only its facade survived, incorporated in 1952 into a new building that echoes its original appearance. Now owned by a bank, the building is mainly experienced from the street, through its striking facade.
