Cecilienhof Palace stands at the northern end of the Neuer Garten in Potsdam, near the shore of the Jungfernsee. Built between 1913 and 1917 for Crown Prince Wilhelm and his wife Cecilie, it was designed in the style of an English Tudor manor, with dark half-timbering and chimneys that are each unique. It was the last palace erected by the House of Hohenzollern, and its great hall became the setting for the Potsdam Conference of 1945, where Truman, then Churchill and later Attlee, and Stalin negotiated the postwar order. The rooms used by each delegation, furnished in period style, remain open for viewing.
