# Burg Wildenburg

Hellenthal, Kreis Euskirchen, Nordrhein-Westfalen

Burg Wildenburg stands in Hellenthal (Kreis Euskirchen), in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 13th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Burg Wildenburg sits at the tip of a narrow rocky spur in the Eifel, in the municipality of Hellenthal. Built between 1202 and 1235, it is one of the few hilltop castles in the region that has never been destroyed by war or demolition. Visitors can still make out its threefold layout of hamlet, outer bailey and main castle, with half-timbered houses, a former great hall converted into a church, and a residential tower now serving as sacristy.
