Founded in 1204 by Duke Louis I of Bavaria, it served for nearly three centuries as the residence of the Dukes of Bavaria-Landshut before undergoing Renaissance alterations under William V. Visitors can see the Knights' Hall, dating from the 13th century, and the courtyard arcades commissioned from Friedrich Sustris in the late 16th century.
