# Burg Ochsenburg

Zaberfeld, Landkreis Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg

Burg Ochsenburg stands in Zaberfeld (Landkreis Heilbronn), in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Recorded dating: 11th century. No visits are on record for this building.

Ochsenburg Castle refers to the remains of a former hilltop stronghold above the Riesenbach stream, in the village of Ochsenburg, part of the municipality of Zaberfeld. Built apparently between the 11th and 12th centuries by the lords of Ochsenberg, it later passed to the Magenheim family and then to the margraves of Baden, before coming under Württemberg control at the end of the 14th century. Of the medieval fortress and the Renaissance schloss that replaced it, only two outbuildings survive today near the village church.
