The Château de Crogny stands in the commune of Les Loges-Margueron, in the Aube department, at the heart of a large forest estate that for over three centuries held woodland, ponds, mills and a glassworks. Built in 1815 on the initiative of Jacques Duchâtel, it followed a lordship known since the early 16th century as Champ de l'Orme and later Petit Mérobert. The grounds still hold a Japanese pagoda tree planted in 1810, said to be among the oldest in France, and the remains of a bottle glassworks that operated until 1858 can still be seen near today's forestry school.
