In Talence, in the Gironde region, the château La Mission Haut-Brion is above all a wine estate, historic neighbour of château Haut-Brion and ranked as a grand cru in the 1953 classification of Graves wines. Its vineyard took shape as early as the 16th century, and the Lazarist priests, who settled there in the 17th century, built the Notre-Dame d'Aubrion chapel and a residence in the early 18th century. The property still bears the marks of improvements made by the Chiapella and Woltner families, including the wrought-iron gate and the metal arcades brought from Toledo along the façade.
