Corseul, Côtes-d'Armor, Bretagne

Château du Plessix Madeuc stands in Corseul (Côtes-d'Armor), in the Bretagne region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The manor of Plessix Madeuc stands at the hamlet bearing its name, in the commune of Corseul, in the Côtes-d'Armor. Its T-shaped plan reflects several building campaigns spread from the 15th to the 18th century, carried out under successive families, Madeuc, Lenfant, Jan and later Hinguant de Saint-Maur. Notable features include shouldered chimneys reminiscent of the houses built by Saint-Malo shipowners, and a well with an inverted-hull timber frame, a distinctive piece within the estate. Reused Roman-era materials, bricks and a marble column, point to occupation of the site since Gallo-Roman times.
