# Château du Fayel

Château du Fayel stands in Le Fayel (Oise), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: third quarter of the 17th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Built between 1650 and 1655 in the Oise region, the château du Fayel owes its design to the architect Jacques Bruant, who worked for Marshal Philippe de La Mothe-Houdancourt. Its brick walls edged with stone, flanked by two wings, open onto a park whose layout, designed by Le Nôtre, can still be traced in the surrounding landscape. The house hosted Queen Christina of Sweden in 1656, followed by Louis XIV, Anne of Austria and Mazarin, who came to join her there.
