The Château du Croisillat stands in Caraman, in the Lauragais region, some thirty kilometres from Toulouse. Built around 1472, it went through successive building phases, with a square tower-hall and a chapel added in the 17th century, followed by a large residential wing in the 18th century. The surrounding grounds still show traces of a former defensive moat cut into the rock, later turned into ornamental pools, along with an artificial lake and a series of basins.
