> Le château a été édifié au 18e siècle par le poète Jean-Jacques Lefranc de Pompignan dans un style classique. De vastes proportions, il est construit sur une terrasse dominant le village et entouré d'un parc auquel donne accès un porche voûté orné d'une fine grille en fer forgé. De part et d'autre de ce porche, s'étendent les bâtiments de l'Hôtellerie et de l'orangerie (transformés en chapelle par les religieuses qui ont occupé le château). Le château possède une partie semi-circulaire sur sa façade nord qui était autrefois occupée par un théâtre.
