Built in the 19th century for a local landowner, it later passed into the hands of Jean-Bedel Bokassa, then president of the Central African Republic, who bought it in 1972. Several neighbouring towns acquired the estate afterwards, and it now houses the offices of a local council association, set within a 23-hectare park.
