> La porte fortifiée qui donnait accès au château, se situe au sommet du village et fait face au sud. Elle est surmontée de meurtrières et de mâchicoulis dont l'accès se fait par de petits escaliers encastrés à droite et à gauche, dans l'épaisseur des murs. Les remparts, très épais et très hauts, entouraient autrefois la partie la plus élevée du village, notamment l'église paroissiale et le cloître lui faisant suite. Ces remparts ont été en partie détruits (la porte fortifiée en 1961).
