Built in the early 17th century on the order of Louis XIII after the previous Protestant stronghold was destroyed, the building is notable for its interior hall rising some fifteen metres, home to a stone staircase with a wrought-iron banister listed as a historic monument. The wedding hall also displays seven 17th-century Aubusson tapestries, restored at the Gobelins workshops, six of which depict scenes from the First Crusade.
