Built in the 1730s for Count Claude-Marcel de Rutant, the château de Saulxures-lès-Nancy retains a grand drawing room, a smaller salon and a blue bedroom whose wood panelling reflects 18th-century taste. The terrace overlooking the park, decorated with vases and reached by two flights of steps, along with the façades and roofs of the main building and outbuildings, complete an estate marked by history: Empress Eugénie was received here in 1866, and the site was occupied by German then American forces during the Second World War. Only a square tower and a dovecote remain from an orangery destroyed by the 1992 earthquake.
