The château de Santeny stands in a four-hectare park planted with century-old trees, on the eastern edge of Paris. Built in 1868 for Achille François Brac de la Perrière, married into the de Besse family, it combines limestone, millstone grit and dressed stone beneath a roof of slate and mechanical tile, topped with neo-medieval turrets typical of the eclectic taste of the late 19th century. The site has been listed as a historic monument since 1982. Today the building mainly functions as an event venue and is not open for tourist visits.
