Cahuzac-sur-Vère, Tarn, Occitanie

Château de Salettes stands in Cahuzac-sur-Vère (Tarn), in the Occitanie region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Overlooking the Saudronne valley opposite the château de Mauriac, the château de Salettes stands in the commune of Cahuzac-sur-Vère, in the Tarn department. Its earliest construction dates back to the 13th century, a period when the site even contributed to the building of Sainte-Cécile cathedral in Albi. Held successively by the lords of Lautrec and then the Hautpoul family, it was the birthplace in 1754 of the future Napoleonic general Jean Joseph Ange d'Hautpoul. Left to ruin for a long period, the building was restored from 1994 onwards to recover its original structure.
