On a rocky spur of Mont Saint-Jean, at 597 metres above sea level, stand the ruins of a medieval castle built in the 13th century by the lords of Parroy. Later held by the lords of Toullon, the stronghold was destroyed in the mid-17th century by Franco-Swedish troops during the Thirty Years' War. What remains today includes a keep, towers, sections of ramparts, a fortified gate and a chapel, with open views over the villages of Saint-Jean-du-Marché and Faucompierre.
