> Edifice médiéval ayant subi plusieurs modifications. En 1623, agrandissement pour le séjour de Louis XIII et Richelieu afin de préparer la paix d'Alais. Au 18e siècle, réaménagement intérieur (ouvertures créant une enfilade de pièces, remplaçant la distribution primitive par couloir central), création d'un grand escalier à volées droites dans une tour hors-oeuvre, reprise des fenêtres. Sous le Premier Empire, mise au goût du jour par la comtesse de Brueys. Les restes du rempart, remontant au 14e siècle, comprennent deux tours, dont la hauteur a été diminuée de moitié à la Révolution, formant l'entrée du château. Le rempart a été remonté au 19e siècle.
