At Lassouts, in the Aveyron, the château de Roquelaure survives mostly as ruins, but a remarkable element remains: its 12th-century Romanesque chapel. Rectangular in plan with a semicircular chancel, it was later given a Gothic vault with ribbed crossings, and its carved capitals and cornice corbels reflect careful craftsmanship. The chancel holds a 16th-century limestone sculpted group depicting an Entombment.
