The Château de Pruines stands in the Aveyron village of the same name, built of local red sandstone from the 15th century onward. The building combines a main house, a tower and stables, altered in the 16th century for greater comfort. Visitors can see 17th century ceilings with richly coloured paintwork and carving, along with a kitchen displaying old pottery and copper utensils. The castle belongs to a regional touring circuit known as the Route des Seigneurs du Rouergue.
