# Château de Plessis-lès-Tours

La Riche, Indre-et-Loire, Centre-Val de Loire

Château de Plessis-lès-Tours stands in La Riche (Indre-et-Loire), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: Middle Ages, 19th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In the town of La Riche, on the edge of Tours, the Plessis-lès-Tours castle retains only one wing of what was once Louis XI's favourite residence, where the king died in 1483. The surviving building, with its original stair tower, is a small remnant of the much larger royal residence once frequented by Charles VIII, Louis XII, and the States-General of 1506. Visitors can see the vaulted dungeon traditionally linked to the imprisonment of Cardinal La Balue.

**No visits on record.** No opening hours or ticketing found.
