> La famille Nuchèze est citée début 14e siècle. En 1439, Catherine de Nuchèze épousa Jacques de Montalembert, seigneur de Ferrière, auteur probable du château. Le domaine se compose d'un pigeonnier circulaire, d'une chapelle Sainte-Catherine rectangulaire, édifiée vers 1630, d'un four à pain et du corps de logis rectangulaire avec une tour hors-oeuvre polygonale renfermant un escalier en vis au centre, et une tour carrée en avancée sur la gauche. Un pignon élevé s'interrompt au niveau de la tour d'escalier. Le logis, vraisemblablement reconstruit au 18e siècle, se poursuit alors, à droite de la tour sous une toiture plus basse. Chaque pièce a conservé sa cheminée. L'architecture ests typée de la fin du Moyen-âge.
