# Château de Montreau

Montreuil, Seine-Saint-Denis, Île-de-France

Château de Montreau stands in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis), in the Île-de-France region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

The château de Montreau as such no longer stands: the building erected in the 17th century on an estate documented since the 13th century was destroyed in 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War. The same grounds now form the Montreau park in Montreuil, opened to the public in the 1930s. The mansion visitors see at the western entrance, built in the 1870s by Théophile Sueur, then mayor of the town, is not the original château but has housed the Museum of Living History since 1939.
