# Château de Montpinier

Montpinier, Tarn, Occitanie

Château de Montpinier stands in Montpinier (Tarn), in the Occitanie region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

From the road linking Montpinier to Lautrec, in the Tarn department, travellers can spot the remains of a château whose origins date back to the Middle Ages, partly rebuilt in 1830 on the foundations of an older fort. A Protestant stronghold fought over repeatedly during the Wars of Religion, it still shows a Renaissance-style inner courtyard, a chapel, and two square towers now overtaken by trees growing through the floors and ceilings. Left abandoned since the late nineteenth century, the building has fallen into ruin and cannot be visited inside.

**Practical details not verified yet.** We know this château and where it is, but we have not yet checked its opening hours or prices at the source. We would rather tell you than display something we are unsure of.
