On a hilltop overlooking the Arconce valley at Changy, in Saône-et-Loire, stands the square keep of Montessus, flanked by four turrets and joined to an adjoining residential wing. Its oldest parts date back to the 12th century, while most of the current structure was built in the 14th and 15th centuries, with later alterations in the 17th. The building itself cannot be visited inside, but its silhouette remains visible from the surrounding land, kept as traditional grazing country.
