# Château de Monségou

Lamontélarié, Tarn, Occitanie

Château de Monségou stands in Lamontélarié (Tarn), in the Occitanie region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

The château de Monségou stands in Lamontélarié, in the Tarn department, on the banks of the Agout river, between Brassac and Lake de la Raviège. Built in the 15th century by the d'Huc de Monségou family, it long depended on its forges, once fed by the iron-rich soils of the nearby Sidobre region. Its outline still shows a rectangular keep to the north and a slender turret to the west, along with the carved coat of arms of the d'Huc lords on the façade. The site also inspired literature, notably a novel by Jacques Studer devoted to the cardinal of Monségou.
