The Mionnaz fortified house stands on a hillside above the Morge river, in the hamlet that bears its name, in the commune of Menthonnex-sous-Clermont. Built in the early fourteenth century, it once overlooked the road linking Chambéry to Geneva via Rumilly and Clermont. Visitors can see a surrounding wall pierced by a cart gate and a pedestrian door, two round towers flanking the western facade, and a two-storey main building that still holds a coffered fireplace and a staircase set within a lowered tower.
