Grand-Brassac, Dordogne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Château de Marouatte stands in Grand-Brassac (Dordogne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In the Périgord Vert, Marouatte castle overlooks the Euche valley from about forty metres, just outside the village of Saint-Vivien, in the commune of Grand-Brassac. The complex combines a keep, two residential wings and a chapel, enclosed within a double wall reinforced by four round crenellated towers, along with outbuildings and a dovecote. Built between the 13th and 16th centuries, partly destroyed during the Revolution and later restored in the 19th century by architect Maxime Dannery, the estate remains privately owned.
