# Château de Luc

Luc, Lozère, Occitanie

Château de Luc stands in Luc (Lozère), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 6th century, 10th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In the commune of Luc, in the Lozère department, the ruins of this feudal castle stand on a promontory overlooking the Allier valley and once guarded the Regordane road, an old pilgrim route toward Saint-Gilles. Visible remains include a stretch of enclosure wall, the remnants of a tower, a building known as "the prison" and a large rectangular structure whose herringbone stonework may date back to the 6th century. The keep, converted into a chapel in 1878, still bears a statue of the Virgin Mary at its top.
