# Château de Léhon

Château de Léhon stands in Dinan (Côtes-d'Armor), in the Bretagne region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Perched on a mound overlooking the Rance valley, the ruins of Léhon castle recall one of the strongholds contested between Breton lords and Anglo-Norman kings. The current fortress, built in the second third of the 13th century following defensive principles inherited from Philip Augustus, replaced several earlier structures destroyed as far back as the 11th century. Visitors can still make out the polygonal layout of the curtain walls, a semi-circular corner tower and horseshoe-shaped towers, remnants of a site abandoned in the 15th century in favour of Dinan.
