The Château de Landaville stands in Pompierre, in the Vosges region, on the remains of a medieval stronghold first recorded in 1345. The present building, shaped like an L, combines a 16th-century tower kept from the earlier residence of the du Hautoy family with rebuilding work carried out in the 18th century for Count Jean-Jacques de Taxis. The grounds still hold an 18th-century dovecote with wattle-and-daub nesting cells, a gazebo dating from around 1900, and a pond with an island reached by a footbridge.
