Its layout combines two Renaissance wings joined by a 19th-century section built where a terrace once stood. The towers and keep were cut down to roof height during the Camisard war, when troops sent by Louis XIV besieged the site. The estate has remained with the same family since the mid-19th century, descendants of the lineage that held it for nearly five hundred years.
