Hombourg-Budange, Moselle, Grand Est

Château de Hombourg-Budange stands in Hombourg-Budange (Moselle), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: third quarter of the 16th century, first quarter of the 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

The château of Hombourg-Budange stands on a promontory above the Canner valley in Moselle. Three of its wings, arranged in a U around a courtyard, date from the Renaissance, while a fourth, classical-style wing closed the ensemble in the eighteenth century. Remains of medieval walls still surround the site, traces of an earlier fortress. The property remains privately owned, and its current state of considerable disrepair can be seen from its façades visible from the village.
