Certaines parties de fortifications remontent au 11e siècle. L'enceinte a été renforcée aux 13e et 15e siècles. La collégiale (1367) a été restaurée par l'architecte Sagot au 19e siècle (porche néo-gothique sur la façade ouest). Vitraux posés en 1880.
