# Château de Gergy

Gergy, Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté

Château de Gergy stands in Gergy (Saône-et-Loire), in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second half of the 17th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

Set on a terrace overlooking the Saône river at the edge of Gergy, this 17th-century château was built in 1668 for Louis Quarré, a lieutenant general at the Chalon chancellery. An older rustic gate tower, remnant of a fortified farm, still marks the entrance to the estate. The building is private property and cannot be visited inside, but the tree-lined avenue along the plateau gives an open view over the river and, on clear days, toward the Jura and the Alps.

**No visits on record.** No opening hours or ticketing found.
