Originating in the 14th century as a seigneurial farmstead, it took on its present appearance under the Retz family, who owned it from 1587 to 1849 and added, among other things, a gateway dated 1672 bearing their coat of arms. Visitors can also see a 17th-century chapel standing apart from the main building, along with terraces below the courtyard.
