The current building, erected in the 18th century on the site of a former medieval fortified castle, was extended in the following century with an added pavilion and additional storeys. The main house is recognisable by its five bays and the dormer windows lighting the attic level. The estate has remained in the hands of the same family for several generations and is not listed among the sites open to visitors.
