# Château de Corbeville

Orsay, Essonne, Île-de-France

Château de Corbeville stands in Orsay (Essonne), in the Île-de-France region of France. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In Orsay, on the Troche hillside, the Château de Corbeville rises above the trees with its four turrets and heavy roofline, visible from the valley below. Built in the early 16th century as a residence with no defensive purpose, it took on its present appearance by the late 17th century, following the addition of turrets in 1605 and the removal of its double roof around 1660. The estate still carries traces of its Jansenist past, since the abbot Claude de Sainte-Marthe retired here until his death in 1690.
