The Chessy château visible today is not the seventeenth-century residence built for Jean de Fourcy, superintendent of buildings under Henry IV, whose interiors were decorated by the painter Simon Vouet: that original house disappeared between 1799 and 1815. What remains are the estate's former outbuildings, including a north facade and a seventeenth-century dovecote, reworked in 1932. The site now serves as the headquarters of the Val d'Europe local government.
