The château de Chenailles stands in the Bois des Comtesses, in the commune of Saint-Denis-de-l'Hôtel, in the Loiret department. It was built in the 16th or 17th century at the initiative of Marie Vallée and her husband Robert Miron, comptroller general of finances under Louis XIII. Ownership of the estate later passed through several families, including the Vallée, Fête and d'Estrées lines. One of its state rooms, decorated with paintings attributed to Jean Mosnier, was dismantled and is now kept at the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio.
