The château de Celeyran stands near Salles-d'Aude, in the Aude department, on an estate held by the Mengau-Tapié family from the 17th century until the late 19th. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec spent part of his childhood here and painted numerous works on the grounds between 1880 and 1882, now kept at the Albi museum. The house still bears the neo-Louis XV decoration commissioned by Edouard Soulas, who owned it in the early 20th century. The estate now belongs to winemaker Gérard Bertrand, who bought it in 2019 after a period of neglect and fire damage.
