# Château de Caudon

Domme, Dordogne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine

Château de Caudon stands in Domme (Dordogne), in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: first half of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Perched above the Dordogne valley a few kilometres from the bastide town of Domme, the château de Caudon presents a rectangular main building flanked by two lower pavilions under slate roofs. Built in the early 19th century by a lawyer who helped draft the French Civil Code, it was later enlarged by his descendants, among them a senator who painted landscapes. The grounds combine the house with a park, an avenue of plane trees and boxwood gardens, and once served as a filming location for Ridley Scott's first feature.

**Practical details not verified yet.** We know this château and where it is, but we have not yet checked its opening hours or prices at the source. We would rather tell you than display something we are unsure of.
