The château de Brimborion no longer stands: this pavilion built around 1750 on the banks of the Seine at Sèvres was torn down in 1954 after serving as a municipal museum. What remains today, open to visitors, is the surrounding park, listed as a protected site since 1934, with its eighteenth-century rockwork, a remarkably preserved ice house and a bridge-shaped gate. The place recalls the affair between Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour, who owned the pavilion from 1750, and later the English-style gardens laid out by the king's daughters. The hillside offers wide views over the Seine valley, reaching as far as the Eiffel Tower and Montmartre on a clear day.
